  New a good term instead of born-again

  i have been associated with many religious groups over the years, mainly the catholics, jehovah's witnesses, and various evangelical born-again groups.. i often use the term born-again on this forum.

  i normally mean born-again in reference to evangelical born-again groups, "fundies", etc.. a couple of posters here have told me that they find the way i used the term born-again offensive.

  they rightly tell me that most christians believe that they are born-again...hence, my comments offend them.. so, folks, can we come up with a more accurate term?

  i am definately insane although i dont think it can all be blamed on the knowledge i've obtained recently and trying to deal with the aftermath.

  at least part of the reason is probably genetic.

  so where are the angels of mercy for people with incurable insanity?

  Watch Ali giving himself messages all the time, all he does is tell himself how good he is, and how hes gonna win.

  Im going to hit you in the face.
  One thing is certain.
  As long as you keep telling yourself a thing it will be a fact for you. Keep telling yourself youre insane, youre unworthy, youre stupid, and those thoughts will turn into reality and be true.
  The messages we give to ourself...Im talking about the thoughts we think to ourself, and the language we use when we are talking to ourself inside our own head, those different voices talking...the language and words they use is very important.

  Heres just a sample of what one part of your mind is telling your other mind to believe:

  ...."I am definitely insane...I am the biggest reason.....Im weak minded...I just dont have the ability...Here I am, insane...Im just insane...Im incapable of emotional growth...Im incapable of having a relationship...Im, you know, crazy...Its incurable"....

  The longer you keep telling yourself this, the more true it will become. Every time you think these thoughts you REINFORCE the rotten opinion you have of yourself.
  Do somethin about it.

  1) get yourself a boyfriend,a relationship with someone you care about will make 90 percent of your troubles go away...poof!

  2) Get yourself some books about positive thinking and do some Affirmations. Get up, look in the mirror every morning and tell yourself how bloody good you are... if you do that... after a while you will start to believe it.

  Now pull your finger out and get to work.

  1957 in Bible Prophecy

  an internet site published a couple of years ago a portion of chapter 10 of coc detailing a schroeder, klein, suiter proposal that the phrase this generation of matt.23:34 began in 1957. the idea was that the power of heaven was shaken with the onset of the space age, notably the launching of the first sputnik.. the fact sheet given each governing body member to study was reproduced in the franz book.

  evidently, the gb considered the merits of this proposal, deciding to stick with the view of this generation that was current at the time.. this little tidbit affected me greatly, moving me to order coc.

  that such a whimsical, ludicrous concept would be entertained by grown men, let alone spirit-directed men astonished me.. as an elder, if a brother had approached me with this idea, my inclination would have leaned toward his having serious mental health issues.. .

  The watchtower of Feb 15, 1994 page 19 hints at this celestial phenomena angle . They definitely toyed with the idea.

  Observant ones will notice this Wt was released about 8 months before the endline date for the 80 year maximum of a generation. Oct 1914- Oct 1994.
  Just floating the notion sussing out the response before deciding their strategy.
  It wouldnt surprise me at all if this subject gets raised again in the WT.

  Extensive readers of WT history will know that the Org has learnt to start floating "new light" possible interpretations early in the year of the limit of their prophetic fulfillment.
  EG- Russell early in 1914 started hedging his bets on fullfilment that year.
  Early in 1975 Fred Franz gave a speech revealing new understanding indicating Armaggedon might not arrive exactly at the time expected.
  They are preempting their own predictive error.
  This is usually prompted by the failure of "prefullfillments" to materialize.
  A prefullfillment example is ,say, the United Nations destroying World religion prior to Armaggedon. When 75 arrived and the UN was still a toothless tiger and Churches were still functioning, the Org started to sweat that time was running out on their predictions.
  Thus they started to hedge BEFORE the final date in October actually arrived.
  "New light" revealed truths regarding prophecy, tend to be published in the WT in November. Immediately after the October 22 expiry date of the Biblical year.

  I believe that many of those ostensibly supporting the Org here are joking in their posts.
  Most of the people here are alright most of the time, but everyone is judgemental and intolerant some of the time.

  i was looking at the link nelly has posted for the bethel tours and went to the comment sections.

  they had posted a comment from a "spiritual widow" and i had to wonder what the heck they meant by that???

  what do they consider her hubby already dead???

  .....further. Thinking back to those "spiritual widows" in the local congregation, there always (to me) seemed to be an implication, an unspoken understanding that those husbands of the widows were remiss, failing to fullfill their duty to provide (as a good hunter gatherer)not literal feeding, but spiritual feeding.
  A label no christian man could desire.

  Thats what got me out.
  The WT is saying I SHOULD feel such and such a way, but Im actually feeling the opposite way.
  Eventually I had to decide to either trust my own feelings or totally submit to the Totalisms voice.

  poor woman,
  she doesnt have the God ordained benefit of a man above her so that spirit can flow to her thru the proper channel.
  I would imagine her husband might be oppossed, he thus being as one already dead. ( havent read the link)
